WHAT'S ON YOUR GOOGLE BOOKS SHELF?

I've added some books to my Google books library. Of course they are
all old out of print 19th century local history and family genealogy books,
and the ones I added last night include histories of Dracut, Groton, Harvard,
Ipswich and Lancaster.

The Early Records of Lancaster, Massachsetts 1643-1725 is really a find. My
ancestor Ralph Houghton and his sons and grandsons served as Town Clerk
and there are many mentions of the Houghtons and others from families
I'm descended from. Here's a break down of names followed by the number of
pages they appear on:

Houghton 100
Willard 99
Prescott 85
Sawyer 73

While I've found the information on the early settlers and history of a town to be
fairly accurate, a little caution is advised especially with the sections dealing
with the family or town flourishing at the time the book was being written.
Some of them have turned out to be "puffpieces".

What books are in your Google books library?

I've bookmarked some GoogleBooks and downloaded others. These are all books I can't get because they are out of print (or too expensive at Higginsons) or not in my local library. Thanks goodness for Google Books! Here is a sampling of some of the books I've got in my folder:

A Genealogical History of the Felton Family
Annals of Salem
Epitaphs of Woburn's 1st and 2nd Burial Grounds
Hawaii's Story by Hawaii's Queen Liliuokalani
History of Lynn, Massachusetts

How does this Google Bookshelf work? I had heard it mention before but never looked into how it works? I think I may be missing something big.

I keep in mind where the books are that I found but did not think of a Google Library Shelf...I just looked and there it is. You always stimulate research to a higher plane of thought. Thanks

Heather and Hummer-thanks for the kind comments.

Claudia-Whenever you find a book on
Google Books, there's a tab at the top of your screen hat says "add to my library". That puts it in a folder
that you can access from Google without searching all your bookmarks.
It's basically a quicker and easier way to keep them together.
