While doing my usual Sunday genealogy browsing breakfast,
I ran across this article about some questions about Abraham
Lincoln's ancestry. It puts in doubt his descent from the
Lincolns of Hingham, Massachusetts.
The article is based on research by R. Vincent Enlow and
you can read about it at "Genealogy Today".
Of course, this theory is viewed with considerable skepticism
about the evidence used to support it and you can read a
rebuttal by Edward Steers Jr. here.
A blog about genealogy and thoughts about the various roots and branches of my family tree as well as the times in which my ancestors lived.Included are the West, White, and McFarland families.WARNING:DO NOT TAKE ALL OF MY FAMILY RECORDS AS GOSPEL. ALWAYS CONFIRM YOUR OWN RESEARCH!

LINCOLN DAYS IN HINGHAM. MA.
We all know the story of Abe Lincoln growing up in the log
cabin in Kentucky. But what many Americans don’t know is
thatLincoln’s ancestors lived in Hingham, Massachusetts, a
small coastal town that is only one town away from me here
in Abington.
You can read about Hingham’s 20th annual Lincoln Days
celebration here. And make sure to look at the two
comments!
