ROLL CALL

Since I've been getting a bit more traffic lately, I thought I'd
do a list of the surnames in my family genealogy in case some
of my readers might be researching them as well.

On my mother's side, there are the McFarland and White
families of Ireland and Boston, Ma., as well as the Offlincher/
Offlinger family of Germany and Boston. That's all I have so
far on my maternal line.

My dad's line is composed of families that migrated to Western
Maine in the late 18th and early 19th century, mostly to Oxford
County Me. with a few in Coos County, Nh. There are two major
groups, the families mostly from Essex or Middlesex County and
the families from Plymouth County with a few from west of
Boston.

These include the following:

North of Boston (Middlesex and Essex County)

Abbot/Abbott
Ames/Eames
Bancroft
Barker
Blake
Buswell
Butterfield
Challis
Coburn/Colburn/Colborne
Ellingwood/Ellinwood/Ellenwood
Greenleaf
Hastings
Herrick
Laughton
Loker
Lovejoy
Prescott
Richardson
Sanborn/Samborne
Sargent
Swan/Swann
Spaulding/Spalding
Upton

South of Boston(Plymouth County)

Barnes
Barrows
Benson
Bonham/Bonum
Carver
Dunham
Griffith/Griffeth
Hedge
Hopkins
Hull
Keith
Morton
Packard
Rogers
Simmons/Simmonds
Totman
Ward
West

West of Boston(Worcester County)

Haskell
Houghton
Safford
Pierce
Sawyer
Tuthill/Tuttle
Willard

There's more but those are the ones I can think of and list easiest.
I'll add more as I recall them.

Bill, I knew with all those New England surnames, we'd connect. I have WILLARD, too.

Major Simon WILLARD & Mary DUNSTER
Henry WILLARD, Sr.
Henry WILLARD, Jr.
Benjamin WILLARD
Abigail WILLARD (b. 1750)
That line marries out into my ZWEARS/SWEARS/SWEERS line.

We probably share a SANBORN connection. I descend from John SANBORN and Ann BACHILER/BATCHELDER (or similar variants of her surname) through John SANBORN and Mary TUCK then Joseph SANBORN and Mary GOVE then Abigail SANBORN and Ebenezer DEARBORN.

Bill, what are your Eames ancetors? I am descended from Thomas Eames, b. abt 1618, England and his wife Margaret; then his son John Eames, b. 6 October 1642, and his 2nd wife Elizabeth, m. May 1682, in Massachusetts, and their dau. Elizabeth Eames, b. 11 Apr 1685, Sherborn, Massachusetts. That latter Elizabeth m. Caleb Drury, ancestor of my maternal grandmother, Ruth Elizabeth Drury.

Dale, I'm descended from Robert Eames and Rebeca Blake(of witch trial
fame).

I do have a Rice in my ancestry as well: Rachel Rice daughter of Henry Rice and Elizabeth Moore. She married Thomas Drury. I need to work on sourcing some of those lines.

Henry Rice & Elizabeth Moore were my 7th greatgrandparents.

I have Thomas Eames & Millicent Brewster but don't see Brewster on your list. And that's assuming I don't have my Pierce line all messed up.

I don't think we found a connection between your Barker line and mine - John Barker & Judith Symonds.

I've got Isaac & Phebe Buswell.

William Ward & Elizabeth Hall.

I have cousins with some of the other surnames you've listed.
